Meal Planning/ Meal Preparation
Our Caregivers can help plan ahead about what you'll make for meals and snacks and will prepare them. Meal planning gives you the option to think about some of your favorite foods to eat! If there are dietary restrictions we can plan accordingly.
Allow our Heavenly Helper caregivers to provide a pleasant social activity many people are passionate about. Though many seniors enjoy cooking, certain medical conditions or cognitive deficits may prevent them from preparing meals without assistance. Cooking with a caregiver gives your loved one the opportunity to prepare his or her own meals with a little supervision, which enhances the quality of life for your loved one. Completing this task can promote positive feelings of accomplishment and may even increase your loved one’s appetite. In some cases, our seniors prefer aging in a place they feel comfortable with over moving to assisted living facilities. Light Housekeeping
Our Caregivers will provide needed help around your home with dusting open surfaces; sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming around furniture, wiping down counters, washing and putting dishes away, wiping down bathrooms and kitchens surfaces, taking out the trash, changing sheets, making the bed, laundry and ironing.
Light housekeeping services aren’t just helpful to seniors–they can take the weight off the shoulders of their family members as well. If relatives (or even close friends) who would ordinarily perform these jobs work full-time or live far away, a little hired help can decrease a great deal of stress in their lives.
Transportation
Our caregivers will provide transportation to doctor appointments, grocery shopping, and all other errands.
Senior transportation services can help seniors participate in favorite hobbies and events, experience life outside of their home, and spend more time with friends and family. - Vision provides about 85% of information we need to make safe decisions when driving.
- A 60-year-old requires 10 times as much light to drive as a 19-year-old.
- A 55-year-old takes eight times longer to recover from glare than a 16-year-old.
- Older drivers can take twice as long to distinguish the flash of brake lights as younger drivers.
Standby Assistance
Our caregivers can provide standby assistance to ensure safety while showering/bathing, toileting, and dressing.
YOU MAY HAVE HEARD THE TERM BEFORE. BUT WHAT DOES A STAND-BY ASSIST REALLY MEAN?
We all use some form of insurance, but not many of us know what it is to BE insurance. To provide stand-by assist is to be there, just in case someone needs you to help prevent a fall or injury. Stand-by assistance is for clients who can physically function on their own but may not be safe without someone around to help in case of an emergency. Also, besides safeguarding the client against falls or injury, a stand-by assistant may set up needed equipment or supplies for the client ahead of time, while not participating in the activity.
Heavenly Helpers who provide stand-by assistance is a literal support person. They also serve those who only stand and wait. Stand-by assistants, by their very presence, provide a sense of added safety, security, and calm to clients. Clients know they are not alone, and if something were to occur, someone who knows what to do is right there.
